This is recently opened trekking route in lower part of Everest region. Pikey Peak (4065m) is the tallest hill of this region and well-known for its sunrise and sunset views. The name Pikey is derived from the name of a Sherpa clan deity. During the month of July, the locals hold celebrations to worship their clan god, the eastern Chyabo Pikey, as Pikey Halpchen Karbu. There are other appealing possible tourist activities at Pikey such as paragliding, mountain biking, bird watching, pilgrimage and meditation. The highlights of this trek will be: panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges including Mt. Everest and Makalu; unique Sherpa and other community cultures; picturesque landscapes and most importantly the solidarity project in Merangding which has been helping villagers to develop their village. The project is being funded by Association for Development of Nepal / Merangding (ADN) which is located in Chartres, France in association with Evasion Trekking and Kathmandu Heritage Tour, Nepal.

No special training is required, however, good physical condition, a passion for walking and desire to enjoy the panoramic views of mountains and encounter village life are essential.
